Skelleftea Kommun

The city of Skellefteå has approximately 72 000 inhabitants, an area of 6800 square kilometres and is situated in northern Sweden, approximately 300 kms south of the arctic circle. The cold climate and our natural resources are conditions that have helped us develop viable solutions for heating and power generation, working with biofuels, renewable energy sources and district heating. The region is strong in wood construction with a clear focus on using wood as a construction material.

Previous experiences on demonstration projects indicate that the activities related with works on construction sector can be affected by different unforeseen situations. The main objective of this WP is establishing a common structure for commissioning the energy measures and data acquisition systems, assessing the district performance after retrofitting, supported mainly by the WP5 and WP4, which allows obtaining good results (energy savings assessment, economic analysis, social acceptance evaluation, LCA of the retrofitting).
